Shada El Sharif

Shada is currently Director of the Jordan Environment Fund (JEF), a national financing vehicle with a mandate to advance sustainable development and green growth in Jordan.

She has previously served as Director of the Clean Tech sector at the USAID funded Jordan Competitiveness Program (JCP), leading interventions in policy development, capacity building, investment promotion and job creation within vital sub-sectors such as the growing market for electric vehicles (EV) in Jordan. Shada has also had diverse, regional experience in sustainability consulting, project development, as well as strategic leadership of projects and teams. Shada is passionate about building partnerships and mobilizing stakeholders from the public sector, private sector and international community, towards common sustainable development goals in the MENA region and beyond.

Shada is specialized in the areas of low carbon development, climate change policy / finance, and clean technology, having delivered projects and papers on these topics in regional and international settings. Shada is a member of the Euro-Mediterranean Nexus Think Thank (NTT) on the Water-Energy-Food Nexus. She served as a member of the Board of the Jordan Green Building Council (JGBC). She is also a certified trainer of the AEE Renewable Energy Professional (REP) course, a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP). She holds MEng and BSc degrees in Environmental Engineering from Cornell University.
